5-1. | Clinical trial |
● | Double-blind placebo controlled randomized trial |
● | Healthy people, Age 73 ± 7 |
● | Placebo (whey) : 35 subjects |
Collagen peptide : 29 subjects | |
● | 2.5g/day, 90 days |
● | Evaluation:Pulse Wave Velocity |
Pulse wave velocity :
Pulse wave velocity is considered to be the gold standard (the most suitable index) for measuring arterial stiffness. Pulse wave velocity is affected by blood pressure, cholesterol, and lifestyle factors, all of which have a significant impact on cardiovascular health. For this reason, pulse wave velocity is the only measure that gives you an overall picture of cardiovascular health and the potential risk of developing hypertension.
Placebo : | simulated medicine |
Double-blind : | neither the doctors nor the subjects knew who received what treatment |

Mean±SE *p<0.05 (vs Baseline)
Pulse wave velocity was significantly improved in the collagen peptide group. This is expected to prevent arteriosclerosis.

5-2. | Mice research data |

In the collagen peptide group, it was shown that blood pressure was gradually lowered after 2 weeks of intake.
The collagen peptides used in this study are fermented with yeast after gelatin is decomposed with pineapple juice, and contain a large amount of oligopeptides.
Using spontaneously hypertensive mice, ingested 12 g/day collagen peptide (human equivalent)

Angiotensin II is involved in increasing blood pressure. The conversion of angiotensin II from angiotensin I is catalyzed by ACE and can be suppressed by inhibiting ACE. ACE inhibitors prevent angiotensin II production , thereby suppressing blood pressure elevation.
