Regional Cleanups

Regional cleanups were carried out in July and December 2020 with a total of 108 employees taking part in cleaning around the plant.

In September, 73 employees took part in some neighborhood cleaning in conjunction with the Yao City cleanup campaign.

We also carry out environmental patrols four times a year in an effort to clean up the surrounding area.

Plant Tours

We actively welcome educational field trips from elementary schools in the area. We shared the basic knowledge of gelatin with the elementary school students and teachers, and they had experienced making sweets using gelatin at the plant.(The plant tours were temporarily suspended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2021.)

Making Our Ground Available

We make the plant’s sports ground available so that a boys’ soccer club can use it throughout the year for training.

Every spring, people from the neighborhood come to enjoy the cherry blossoms on the old Yoshino cherry trees and weeping cherry trees planted by new employees. However, over the past two years in 2020 and 2021, we decided to keep the ground closed to help prevent spread of COVID-19.

Grape Harvest Volunteer

In July 2021, we signed an agreement for "Agricultural Experience and Volunteer" under the Osaka Prefecture’s agricultural partnership agreement system, which was established by the Osaka Agricultural Tsunagu (meaning “connect”) Center to match companies wishing to participate in agriculture as side jobs or volunteers with farmers seeking support for their work.

In order to contribute to the development of local communities as a member of the communities, we have been conducting volunteer activities to harvest grapes for wine making at local grape farms every year since 2021.

Sports Support

With the launch of the athlete recovery drink "RunShot" jointly developed with the men's ekiden running team from Josai University, which has participated in Hakone Ekiden, we are supporting people who love sports by providing the RunShot to sports teams and sponsoring them.

In September 2022,we signed a partnership agreement with Matsuyama City,Ehime Prefecture,on the empowerment of women through sports.Through this agreement,we will further support for female athletes.

The Matsuyama Project

In 2020, we began activities to support female athletes in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, the birthplace of Nitta Gelatin’s founder, Chojiro Nitta. In February 2021, we launched the TSUNAGARU (meaning "connect") website to support local female athletes in the hope that it will connect and bring them together to carry their dreams and desires into the future.

Collagen Shop & Café

We are contributing to the local community by having set up a café where residents local to the Osaka Plant can not only buy collagen products but also come to relax.

The café has been named Sakura Café as it is a place where the cherry blossoms, or sakura, are in full bloom in spring.
